Prom is one of those things that always seems to take largest expenses for any High School Junior or Senior. From dresses to tuxedos to after parties, all of these need a large of money. But if you are thrift and take the time to do a little survey work you can save money on prom expenses. Here are some simple ways to save a little money on prom so you can enjoy your evening rather than worry about how much it is costing.
A prom dress can be a very expensive thing and can cost the girl hundreds of dollars. It doesn't have to be that way though. If you begin shopping for your prom now you should be able to get really good clearance pricing on left over holiday dresses. The stores are going to clear those dresses out and the gowns for many people attending formal Christmas parties are beautiful and suitable for prom. When choose your prom shoes, be practical. Either wear a nice pair of shoes that you already have, or go to an in-expensive foot wear place. No one has to know how much you really paid for the shoes. Buy a pair of shoes that you will use again. As for makeup or the hair, if you can, you can learn to do it yourself. Just take your time. Practice doing your make up ahead of time, try different things and see what you like best.
This is your prom, so feel free to spend as little or as much as you like. But if money is a concern make sure to plan things ahead of time. If there is something you want to splurge on go ahead and then just cut back on something else. Don't disappoint yourself trying to pinch pennies, a prom is something that is special and it is something you will only do once or twice. Make sure you can enjoy it.
